Lighting the forge

PYROGON™

Forge worlds with fire.

Make games in a few lines of code.

CrystalQuest.pyr 0 lines

    Now change your mind. One line re-lights the whole world. A mod changes the call above it without touching the snippet, and you can stack them.

    Your game

    A window, or the browser

    Pyrogon compiles to Python, so it works with Python, not against it. A snippet can always drop down into plain Python when it needs to.

    The whole language

    Everything you need
    fits on one page.

    Call

    Runs a snippet. The name is the file name.

    Call:[GrassPlain]

    Mod

    Changes the call it is indented under. Stack as many as you like.

    Call:[GrassPlain]
        Mod:[Night]
        Mod:[Foggy]

    def and Run

    Name a group of lines once, run it as often as you like.

    Run:[Warning]

    def:[Warning]
        THE HORDE IS COMING

    loop and Wait

    Repeat lines a set number of times, or forever. Wait pauses in seconds.

    loop:num=3
        Call:[FallingRocks]
    Wait==0.5

    Scene

    One place in a 3D game. A Gate walks the player to the next.

    Scene:[City]
        Call:[GrassPlain]
        Call:[Gate]

    Audio

    Songs from the Music folder, voice lines from the Audio folder.

    Audio:Type=Music:[City Theme]
    Audio:Type=Audio:[Evangelist1]

    Settings:Edit

    Your own version of a call, saved as a new snippet.

    Call:[Zombies]
        Settings:Edit[
        Name = MyZombies
        COUNT = 6
        ]

    Title and Run-Type

    Name the window, and pack the game into one file.

    Title==Zombie Forest
    Run-Type==.Bat

    Recipe: a complete 2D game

    Arrow keys or WASD to move. Coins give points, rocks cost lives, Space restarts.

    Call:[NeonStyle]
    Call:[WideCanvas]
    Call:[Starfield]
    Call:[Player]
    loop:num=2
        Call:[FallingRocks]
    Call:[Coins]
    Call:[ScoreBoard]
    Call:[Timer]
    Call:[TitleCard]
        Mod:[RainbowText]
    Call:[BigCountdown]

    Recipe: a 3D scene of your own

    Every 3D call in a program shares one scene. Shapes take size, motion and material mods.

    Call:[GrassPlain]
        Mod:[Sunset]
    Call:[Cube]
        Mod:[Wood]
    Call:[Sphere]
        Mod:[Glass]
        Mod:[Floating]
    Call:[Torus]
        Mod:[Spinning]
        Mod:[Glowing]

    Good to know

    • Lines run top to bottom. Call a style first, then a canvas, then what goes on it.
    • All 3D calls build one 3D scene. It opens in the browser when the program ends, and needs internet each time.
    • All 2D calls share one canvas window. Close it or press Esc to stop.
    • To make your own call, copy a snippet and rename the file. The file name is what you Call.
    • A .bat needs Python and Pyrogon on the PC, so it is for playing on this PC.

    What's in the box

    Say what you want.
    The engines do the work.

    pyro3d

    3D engine

    Physically based sky, clouds, sun rays, bloom, ambient occlusion and colour grading. Call:[UltraGraphics] turns it all the way up to hyper.

    pyro2d

    2D engine

    One shared canvas and game pieces that work together: a Player, Coins, FallingRocks, a ScoreBoard, title cards and countdowns.

    Mesh Engine

    The shapes

    Real 3D models, made for you. Whole oaks and boulders drop straight into your game with one Call, and more are on the way.

    Texture Engine

    The surfaces

    Bark, brick, rock and more in razor-sharp 4K, ready in as little as 10 seconds.

    Scene:[City]

    Scenes and gates

    More than one place in a game. Walk through a Gate and the world fades into the next scene. Score and lives come along.

    Audio:Type=Music

    Music and voices

    One line plays a song, a playlist or a voice line. The music ducks while someone talks, and the words show on screen.

    Settings:Edit[]

    Your own version

    Type empty brackets and the IDE fills in a call's real settings. Change them, press Run, and it becomes your own snippet.

    Run-Type==.Bat

    One file to play

    Pack the finished game into a single .bat. Double-click it and it plays, with no IDE and no Run button.

    Pyrogon AI

    An AI that writes
    your game for you.

    A personal coding assistant with its own name and personality. Say what you want in plain words and it writes the whole game. It speaks Python and other languages too.

    • Creator mode. It builds a first version, then keeps testing and improving it, round after round, until you click Wrap up.
    • Runs its own code. It tests what it writes, and asks you first.
    • Searches the web when it needs fresh information.
    • A perfect score. 18 out of 18 game requests it had never seen, built right. And 88.4% on the HumanEval Python test.
    • No graphics card needed, soon. Pyrogon AI is moving off your GPU, so you will not need a gaming PC to use it.
